Method:

1.     Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan:

o    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

o    Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

2.     Melt Butter:

o    In a microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop, melt the butter until it is completely liquefied. Allow it to cool slightly.

3.     Mix Wet Ingredients:

o    In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

o    Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

o    Stir in the vanilla extract.

4.     Combine Dry Ingredients:

o    In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

5.     Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

o    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

o    If using, fold in the chocolate chips or chunks until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

6.     Bake the Brownies:

o    Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.

o    Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).

7.     Cool and Serve:

o    Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.

8.     Enjoy!

o    Serve these delicious chocolate brownies on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.

Tips:

  • Variations: Add nuts like walnuts or pecans for added texture, or swirl in caramel or peanut butter for a flavor twist.
  • Storage: Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
  • Presentation: Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with melted chocolate for a decorative finish.
